Sabrina Reverb — tape delay and shimmer
Sabrina Reverb is a tape-style delay network: fourteen delay lines, seed-based times, and two kinds of shimmer.
Reverb character
Twelve diffusion delays smear the input into a dense cloud; two longer recycle taps (green on the display) hold the tail. Short Diffusion Size is slap and grain. Longer Size is a small room. Recycle and Diffusion Amount keep the cloud alive without a separate “decay time” knob.
Shimmer is delay-time modulation. Parabol is the original cyclic wow. FBM (Fractal Brownian Motion) is a lush, less periodic flutter.
Controls
| Control | Function |
|---|---|
| Mix | Dry/wet. Default 43%. |
| Amplitude | Output level after the mix. |
| Diffusion Size | Length of the twelve diffusion delays. Near 0 is a few samples; 1 is about 400 ms. |
| Diffusion Amount | Feedback inside each diffusion delay. Default 0.70. |
| Delay Time | Length of the two recycle taps (green lines). Independent of Diffusion Size. |
| Recycle | Feedback through the recycle pair — how long the tail hangs. Default 0.70. |
| Mod(~)Amp | How far delay times wobble. Default 0.07. |
| Mod(~)Speed | How fast the delay-time LFO runs. Default 0.83. |
| Mod(~)Vary | How independently the fourteen lines’ LFOs run. More Vary = more decorrelation. In the original Sabrina, this knob was inverted (more Vary meant more sync). Here, 1 − x matches the original. |
| Mod(~)Style | Parabol or FBM. |
| Seed | Integer 0–16777215. Reshuffles delay times. Same seed, same pattern. |
Display
Fourteen vertical lines on a black plate. Left is short, right is long (about 0.44 s). Diffusion taps are red (left) and blue (right). Recycle taps are green. Lines keep moving while the editor is open.
