Sandbox — a modular environment in beta
Sandbox is a modular audiovisual environment. Patch a circuit in the browser, or run the same graph as a DAW host.
Beta
Sandbox is in beta, and it is free during development. Modules, faces, patches, and the DAW host are still changing. Saved circuits may need a fresh look after an update. Take what is useful, and expect the graph to grow.
In the browser
The live lab is on soundemote.io. That is the same environment as the authoring graph: shop, wires, scopes, picture bus, and native DSP in WebAssembly. Open it, patch, and listen.
In a DAW
The host plugin is one binary with two entries: sandbox instrument and sandbox effect, vendor soundemote. Formats are CLAP and VST3 (AU on Mac). It loads the same patch JSON and runs the same native graph. The editor is the designer page inside the plugin window.
The host is in beta. Windows is the current seat. Transport and BPM follow the session; on-screen keypads and buttons speak into the graph. A MIDI device reaches the patch only through an explicit MIDI module cable.
